Gaza: Life Under Siege

In Gaza, the humanitarian crisis is compounded by years of siege, infrastructure collapse, and repeated waves of conflict. As of 2025, over 80% of the population is food insecure, and electricity and clean water are sporadic at best. Many families live in overcrowded shelters—often in schools or unfinished buildings—sharing limited resources and relying on irregular aid deliveries.

Children, in particular, are paying the highest price. Schools are shuttered or destroyed, leaving an entire generation with broken learning cycles and emotional trauma from ongoing bombings. The health system is on the verge of collapse, with hospitals overwhelmed and lacking essential medicines.

Sudan: The Displacement Crisis No One Talks About

Sudan is facing what experts now call the world’s largest internal displacement crisis. Since fighting erupted between the army and paramilitary forces in 2023, over 10 million people have fled their homes. The Darfur region, in particular, has seen unspeakable violence, with communities ethnically targeted and villages burned.

Many families have crossed into Chad and South Sudan, but these border camps are ill-equipped to absorb the influx. Makeshift tents, scarce food, and unsanitary conditions are pushing the limits of emergency response. The World Food Programme has warned of catastrophic hunger, especially for children under five.

What’s most alarming is how little global attention the crisis receives. Sudan’s war unfolds in the shadow of other conflicts, yet its human toll is staggering—and growing by the day.

Ukraine: Living Between Recovery and Uncertainty

More than two years into full-scale war, Ukraine’s crisis is evolving. Major urban centers like Kharkiv and Dnipro continue to experience intermittent shelling, while in rural areas, families return to homes riddled with damage or unexploded ordnance. Reconstruction efforts are ongoing, but they are slow, complicated, and costly.

Aid for Children of War, Inc. will be focusing on assisting children in each of these areas of need.
